Pastor Demetrius K. Samu-el, Sr.

A native of Buffalo, New York, Pastor Demetrius K. Samu-el, Sr. answered the call of God on his life early and has walked faithfully in that calling for decades. Over 25 years ago, he and his beloved wife, Catherine, relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, following the leading of the Holy Spirit as they began a new chapter of life and ministry together.

Pastor Samu-el served diligently for 15 years as the  Assistant Pastor to Bishop C. E. Anderson, Sr., where he gained invaluable wisdom, spiritual formation, and leadership experience. After years of faithful service, the Lord released him to launch out into new territory, birthing Shiloh Church of God in Christ (COGIC)—a ministry built on prayer, the Word, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

In obedience to God’s leading, Pastor Samu-el later returned to Sherman Memorial, where his leadership has brought a fresh wind of growth, vision, and renewal. Under his pastoral guidance, the church has experienced notable expansion in membership, the establishment of new ministries, and the successful completion of significant capital improvements—with more on the horizon. His leadership is marked by excellence, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the Kingdom of God.

A gifted and anointed preacher of the Gospel, Pastor Samu-el is known for his integrity, humility, and heart for people. He is a Friend to many, a Father to a few, and a Husband to one. Above all, he is a servant-leader who seeks the heart of God and is willing to lay down his life for the flock entrusted to his care.

Pastor Samu-el’s academic background includes studies in Journalism and Mass Communications at St. Bonaventure University, and theological training at Regent University and Apex School of Theology. Professionally, he brings a wealth of experience in investment banking and healthcare. A lifelong learner, he continues to pursue advanced degrees in both theology and systems management, ever sharpening his mind as he deepens his walk with Christ.

Pastor Samu-el’s life is a testimony of grace, obedience, and faithful service. He is committed to equipping the saints, building the church, and glorifying God in every season.
